Feb 24 @7:30 pm - Role Models, Dysfunctional Families, or Both? The Matriarchs and the Patriarchs Through Ancient and Modern Lenses Mini-course offered by Rabbi Polisson
Was Sarah a wise and loving mother and wife, or selfish and merciless? Was Isaac a devoted and willing near-sacrifice, or the near-victim of his zealous and emotionally distant father, Abraham? Were Rachel and Leah thoughtful, supportive sisters or conniving, competitive sister-wives? Join Rabbi Polisson as we explore the matriarchs and patriarchs through the lens of both classical and contemporary midrashim (interpretations and stories) and learn that perhaps they were, all at once, both deeply flawed and admirable people.
Meets on three Thursdays: (attendance at all three is not required to participate) https://us02web.zoomus/j/86489496914 Feb. 24 (Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar) Mar. 10 (Isaac and Rebecca) Mar. 24 (Jacob, Rachel, and Leah)
