Sisterhood

Our Mission: Bring a group of diverse women together with a vision of spiritual, social and intellectual growth; enrich our Or Atid family and the greater community.

Most meetings and programs will begin at 9:30 a.m. Times for those marked by * will be announced later. Look for announcements for Zumba classes and other events throughout the year...

Join Us: Come to any Sisterhood event. Share your ideas and make some new friends. There is a yearly membership fee of $20.00.

Changes in the Sisterhood Zumba calendar:

Judy will teach Zumba on Sunday, January 22 at 11:00 a.m. (not 4:00pm as originally scheduled).

Also, the March 4th Zumba date needs to be cancelled. She will teach again on Sunday, April 15th at 4:00 pm.

Both times, the cost per class is $10 and family members age 13 and over are welcome to join in the fun.

Sisterhood Shabbat
Saturday, January 28, 9:30 am

Join us for our annual Sisterhood Shabbat and Kiddush lunch. There are many ways to be a part of this wonderful occasion: you can participate in the service, help set up a special Kiddush, or simply celebrate with the Congregation. Everyone is welcome.

Please contact Barbara Sher for more information and let us know how you would like to participate. Babysitting will be provided!

Special guest speaker: Dr. Barbara Geller, Professor of Religion, Jewish Studies, and Middle Eastern studies at Wellesley College, will give the d'var. After services and during lunch she will share with us what life might have been like for a Jewish woman during the Roman Empire. Barbara received her BA from Princeton University and her Ph.D from Duke University, studied archaelogy in Jerusalem and has taught in the Hebrew College Me'ah program.
