Eight Jewish Texts that Changed the World

“These truths, which we hold to be self-evident…” changed forever the direction of our country. “Four score and seven years ago…” changed the character of our nation. We are all familiar with the effect that the Declaration of Independence or the Gettysburg Address had on American history. Yet within our own Jewish tradition, and our own Hebrew Bible, we find other texts which had equal if not greater impact on human history. These passages which shaped the moral and legal developments of later religious traditions, and of Western society were nothing short of revolutionary in their time. These texts changed the world!

Can you guess which texts? Come join Rabbi Finestone once a month as we discover and explore eight revolutionary passages from the Torah and the Hebrew Bible, and their impact not only on history, but on each one of us. A different passage will be discussed each month.
